Workshop and lecture at the University of Alabama | USA 2019

Without Border Without Drugs was a three-day workshop held by Parisa Tashakori at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The name was taken from a community project which aimed to decrease vandalism and delinquency in the district of Comas in Lima, Peru, which was connected to drug use by young people. Parisa was able to connect this social issue to her workshop at the Department of Art and Art History at UAB as a collaboration project. She helped the students to create and execute their ideas and the final posters were printed with the help of Rafael Vivanco, the professor of graphic design at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Lima. The posters were installed in Comas where young people passed every day and saw the posters. The feedback has shown a great impact on the area and local youth.

Parisa also lectured at UAB and presented three different sessions about her professional life.
