We Are From Iran was an exhibition curated by Parisa Tashakori and presented at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, Colorado, from September 13 to November 11, 2025. Featuring posters by eighteen Iranian graphic designers, the exhibition explored the relationship between typography, culture, and identity through works presented in both Persian and English. Bringing together designers from multiple generations, the exhibition reflected diverse experiences shaped by war, social movements, and contemporary cultural change.

Rooted in Iran’s rich literary and visual traditions, the selected works demonstrated how typography can function as both a communicative and expressive medium. The exhibition highlighted the distinctive role of Persian letterforms in conveying memory, emotion, and cultural meaning while inviting audiences to consider the value of human creativity in an era increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence. Through design, We Are From Iran created a space for dialogue, connection, and cultural understanding.
